Mike and his wife Sandy live in Girard. They have two grown children, Michael, a research chemist in Charlotte, NC, and Diana an assistant manager for Community Child Care Connection in Springfield. They have one granddaughter, Nadia. Sandy is the Executive Administrative Assistant for Illinois Baptist State Association.
Mike recently retired after 36 years as a librarian at LLCC. He continues to be involved in the music education program at LLCC. He and Sandy both teach private music at their own music studio in Girard. Mike is also the State President of the Illinois Federation of Music.
As past president of the Singing Churchmen of Illinois, he led conferences in church music and worship in various parts of the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
