Meet the Staff Christian Education
As a family-centered church, we welcome children in our worship service. For your child’s comfort and your convenience, we also offer a full service nursery in our Christian Education wing and a parent’s room at the back of our worship center. Please see one of our ushers or greeters if you have questions or need directions.
Weekly Announcements:
FOOD ON THE FIFTH - Just 2 Sundays left to bring in your non-perishable food donations for the local Food Pantries (look for the shopping cart in the church foyer). There is a great need during the holiday season, so please give generously. If you would like to make a monetary donation make your check payable to Sugar Creek UMC with “Food Pantry” in the memo section. Please contact the church office with questions (483-2270 or office@sugarcreek.org).
THANKSGIVING SERVICE - Please join us on Tuesday, November 25th at 7:00 p.m. at Sugar Creek for our Thanksgiving Service. Rev. Sara Isbelle will be delivering the message. Please remember to invite family and friends to this special service!
Please note—There will not be Wonderful Wednesday classes or a meal on Wednesday, November 27th. Also, the church office will be closed on the 27th & 28th in observance of the holiday.
ATTENTION PARENTS - THANK YOU PARENTS for being so patient with our exciting new Sunday School program. We've had a great start with hardly a bump on our Adventure Highway! Just a reminder - each Sunday, parents need to sign in their kids between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m., and sign them out between 10:35 and 10:45 from the Adventure Highway 66 Drive In.
Come one, come all! - The Nathaniel Price Sugar Creek Farewell Tour will be making one last stop at Sugar Creek UMC on Dec 7th, 2008 at 4 p.m. Come hear the original songs (and the stories behind them) that have been written over the past six years of ministry at Sugar Creek. You won't want to miss it. There will also be an opportunity for you to thank Nathaniel for his ministry here and Sugar Creek. Please sign-up on the Sunday Stub.
PUPPETEERS NEEDED! - Do you have experience as a puppeteer? Have you ever wanted to be a puppeteer? A puppet ministry will begin at Sugar Creek soon. We will need people to be puppeteers and stage hands. If you have experience with puppets, we can put that to use! If you don't have experience, we will provide free training! We are looking for interested persons in junior high and older. There will also be opportunity for those with building skills to assist with building a stage. If you are interested in this ministry, you may contact Carrie Woodcock at: woodcockfam@yahoo.com
CARE PACKAGES FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS - The High School Sunday School class will be assembling and mailing "care packages" to Sugar Creek college students. We already have a list of 16 college students, so this is going to be a big challenge and we would like your help! If you would like to donate some baked goodies or other items useful to college kids to include in the boxes, we would be grateful to include those. If you want to give a monetary gift to assist with purchasing items for the boxes or to help with the shipping costs, that would be welcomed also. We will be preparing the care packages on Sunday, November 30, so we will need your donations by that day. Also, if you have a college kid you want to make sure we have on our list, you can let us know that. Please email Matthew Woodcock at mwoodcock@sugarcreek.org or call the church office with questions or to pass along a name.
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN - Visit our Christmas Craft and gift area during the Sunday morning coffee break—November 16th and 23rd. New items have been added; Advent calendars still available.

Sugar Creek United Methodist Church has two proud mothers of young children with Down Syndrome. One with a boy and one with a girl. They both host a Down Syndrome baby play group at the church on the second Monday of every month at 9:00a.m.. If you’d like to join us, you may contact either Deb (Gossrow3@comcast.net) or Amanda (ldfrdfam5@aol.com). Ages for baby group are birth through pre-school.
Remember those who defend our freedom. As military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan continue, it’s easy for those of us without immediate family members in the military to slip into compassion fatigue. While it’s true that many of our military personnel have rotated back to the US, for which we are deeply grateful, it’s also true that a number of other servicemen and servicewomen have been rotated back to Iraq and others are scheduled to returned there within the next month or so. Please pick up an updated military prayer list and continue to pray for these brave men and women and their families. If you have a service person in your family, please help us keep our list accurate and continue to supply us with copies of pictures, email, letters, etc. so that we can keep them in our hearts and minds and lift their name (and yours) to God.
